Ideas Are Worthless

Controversial title? Well maybe. But I think it's true. I've heard so many gurus say that ideas are the currency of success and thinking drives the New Economy and we become what we consider all day long. But, to me, creating an idea in your mind will not get it into an actual reality. Ideas without the proper execution are just mere thinking processes with nowhere to go. Its just delusion. In other words, an idea - no matter how big - only assumes value when it's acted upon and brought to life.

This world is full of great thinkers who never realized their greatness. They were strong on the thinking piece but weak on the execution side. And they suffered as a result of that constraint. World-class people get both right. They are superb strategically and brilliant tactically. Really creative and really good at getting things done.

So jump start your commitment around execution. Yes, capture your ideas and bask in the glow of a brilliant thought. And then reach deep into your inner power and have the discipline to do whatever it takes to make the idea a reality. This will accelerate the processes that will get that idea on the road to you and to reality. It is in fact when the idea starts getting executed that it gets even stronger in the mind as concrete evidence of its existence start showing up for real. This builds excitement and pleasure in the execution. So why be sacred? I have no idea...

Do New Things

Human beings crave control-just the way we are. A survival mechanism that goes right back to the days when we lived in caves. We need certainty and anything less makes us uncomfortable. But leadership of your life and work is all about visiting your discomfort. It's about running, not so far away from the things that intimidate and frighten you. And leadership in life is about trying new things.

It's so easy to eat the same food each day. But if you don't try new foods, you just might miss out on your new favorite dish (think about that one for a moment). It's easy to associate with the same people and have the same conversations each day. Look around you for examples of people doing just the same as you. Its so common to start of our days on "common grounds" and take it off from there, and while our minds are imagining some new adventures in our thoughts, pretty much the same is going on in the filed. But if you don't expand your community, you just might miss out on meeting your new best friend when this relates to the people you interact with.
It's so easy to do the same things at work each day. But if you don't stretch, you just might miss out on an achievement that will flood you will a sense of confidence and fulfillment that will be the start of a whole new world of work showing up. And this goes along in much of life's situations! I've talked a lot about the "stretching principle" with a friend of mine, a girl who was going through some challenges at a certain time, its all in the stretching out starting with a smile. I can never forget how this simple word would ease things out for her and she would smile, breathe and move along. Which got her to where she is now, happily enjoying her ride through life, although challenges keep coming, she knows she will get to her aspirations and dreams at some point or another, and that is very much the way to go.

So I invite you to use each day as a platform for filling your life with more adventure, passion and energy by injecting more new things into it. Listen to whatever African tribal music if you usually listen to Bach. Eat Malaysian food if you usually do meat and potatoes. Get out of the usual shell that keeps you away from spectacular surprises. Life is filled with surprises just around the corner, and there is always good in everything if you look closely.

It's a big, interesting world out there. And it's yours for the taking.

Gateways to a Beautiful Life

1. The main work of every human being is inner work. Each day, do something significant to deepen yourself. To have more of the life that you truly want, you must first become more of who you truly are.

2. See your life as a fantastic growth school. Everything that you experience, both good and challenging, has come to you to teach you the lesson that you most needed to learn at that particular stage of your evolution as a person. Understand this truth, and keep asking yourself, “What opportunity does this person or situation represent” in terms of your personal growth. This is a great source of inner peace.

3. Be true to yourself—the best life is the authentic life. Never betray yourself. Take off your social mask and have the personal bravery to present the real you to the world. The world will be richer for it.

4. Remember that we collect what we project. Our outer lives are nothing more than a mirror image of our inner lives. Pour light on your dark side. Become aware of the false assumptions, limiting beliefs, and fears that are keeping you small, and your exterior world will change.

5. We see the world not as it is but as we are. Know that the truth in any given circumstance is filtered through your personal stained glass window—your personal context. Clean up the windows, and you’ll clean up your life. Then you’ll see the truth.

6. Live in your heart—its wisdom never lies. Follow the quiet promptings of your heart, and you’ll be led in the direction of your destiny.

7. Stand in the curiosity of your life. In surrendering control, you’ll create a space for possibilities to enter and treasures to flow.

8. Care for yourself. Do something each day to nurture your mind, body, and spirit. These are essential acts of self-respect and self-love.

9. Build human connections. Dedicate yourself to deepening your bonds with the people around you. Focus on helping others achieve their dreams, and be more concerned with selfless service rather than self-gratification. You’re here to enrich this world, and you betray yourself once you forget this truth.

10. Leave a legacy. The deepest longing of the human heart is the need to live for a cause greater than oneself.

Excerpts by Robin Sharma

One thing I can honestly say with all my heart: what a glorious time to be alive!

Come Back To Me

You say you gotta go and find yourself
You say that you’re becoming someone else
Don’t recognize the face in the mirror looking back at you

You say you’re leaving as you look away
I know there’s really nothing left to say
Just know I’m here whenever you need me
I’ll wait for you

So I’ll let you go
I’ll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you
Come back to me

Take your time I won’t go anywhere
Picture you with the wind in your hair
I’ll keep your things right where you left them
I’ll be here for you

Oh and I’ll let you go
I’ll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you
Come back to me

And I hope you find everything that you need
I’ll be right here waiting to see
You find you come back to me

I can’t get close if your not there
I can’t get inside if there’s no soul to bear
I can’t fix you
I can’t save you
It’s something you have to do ouuuh

So I’ll let you go
I’ll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you
Come back to me

So I’ll let you go
I’ll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you
Come back to me
And I hope you find everything that you need
I’ll be right here waiting to see
You find you
Come back to me

When you find you come back to me
